So really rarely seen such a great location, but someone really, really made an effort with a lot of attention to detail ....., that's worth a visit ;-), super nice, easy-going staff
We had such a great experience at this restaurant! They revived our faith in great German food in great German proportions at a fair price. After the previous night having a poor experience at Alte Haus in Bacharach, we felt like we got back on track with this restaurant. We were staying in Bacharach and got confused and worried about making the late car ferry, so we initially cancelled our reservation to the restaurant. When we realized it was probably going to work out, they took us back in and we had a meal fit for a king. I had the schnitzel with Riesling sauce, which was my favorite schnitzel of the whole trip. My wife had the Venison goulash and loved it. She was deciding between it and something else and the waiter recommended the venison because it was more in the season. Our wine was very good and the portions were great. The interior of the restaurant was very interesting. The food came out quick and hot and at the end of the night, we easily made the car ferry. This was definitely one of more memorable meals on our 10 day trip!
Okay for what it is. Breakfast and accommodations were solid. The check-in was confusing and chaotic, but we ended up with nice rooms that are a little quirky, but offer a lot of space and are a nice place to relax after a hike on the Rheinsteig. I’m only giving three stars, because bar visitors were gathering to smoke cigarettes behind the house right at the entrance to the staircase, which made part of the apartment smell like an ashtray. The owners should also encourage visitors to follow corona guidelines. There were zero masks and zero distance between the bar visitors we had to pass on the way up to the rooms.
It was our second visit there and more will follow. The food was great again and the staff very attentive. Keep it up . I wish the Loreley Weinstübchen with all my heart that it survives this difficult time well.
We spent a night in the room with three beds. The booking process was complicated and we were quoted a different price once we were about to pay. The staff didn't wear masks, too. Hygiene in the seating area was dubious with a rabbit lounging on a sofa. The room appeared clean though, but the bathroom was smelly with a shower in the middle of the room and water splashing everywhere.
Very cozy little eatery. Original interior. Good food and friendly people. Tip: Hawaii schnitzel, very tasty.
Very nice restaurant, decorated with a lot of love. The food is delicious as well as the wine. Very nice hosts! It's worth it and it's always worth a trip. We'll be back!
Simply great, everything is just right here, great atmosphere, very nice service who knows their trade and really delicious food.
After waiting 45 minutes the waiter came to say they had no goulash soup. Worthless!
We went to the restaurant spontaneously today. The condition is just great, the food is delicious, beautifully served, decorated and the waiting time is absolutely okay. I can only recommend. We have already reserved a table for Friday today
Yesterday we spontaneously went to dinner at Loreley with friends and 2 children and we are still very enthusiastic! Very friendly, funny and competent staff, very delicious food and a watchful and cozy atmosphere. Since we came by very spontaneously, we could "only" get a seat at the counter, but almost nothing better could happen to us! We had a lot of fun with the staff during the evening and could have had a very good chat with you! Despite all the stress, everyone was friendly and always ready for a little fun. We will definitely be eating here again!
Very cute, playful restaurant. Despite the full capacity, the staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Reserve in advance and highly recommended.
We waited 2 hours for the food with no prior notice that it could take anywhere near longer. Absolute NoGo. Some ingredients from the menu were not available, which we were only informed 40 minutes (!) After ordering. My fried potatoes, which I ordered as a replacement for the croquettes that were no longer available, had bacon on them, although I had explicitly ordered a vegetarian meal beforehand. Food itself was below average to mediocre. Only the young man in the service was doing his best, even if there is still a need for expansion (e.g. announcement of the long waiting time, communication of the reason, etc.).
Very tasty and good value for money. Rather rustic cuisine but really good
Very tasty food. Served hot, well seasoned. Great selection of regional wine. Service friendly and fast. Quaint interior. We recommend. I will gladly come again.
"Second row" restaurants don't have it easy. You have to try harder and that's exactly what they did here! The facility is a show to discover and remember. You can feel wit and skill everywhere. The food is very good, the prices are right and the service is right.
We were only there by chance and I have to say, have rarely eaten so well. My husband was also very enthusiastic. Definitely a great insider tip if you want something special.
The service was fast and friendly! The food was delicious and portion size is BIG.
We had a lovely lunch at this restaurant. The place might appear tacky and kitschy, yet, it is also quite cozy and pleasant. The food is very delicious and the portions are sumptuous and quite generous. The staff is incredibly welcoming, friendly, prompt, and efficient. I would strongly recommend coming here for a meal if you are in town.
We have herring in a housewife-style cream sauce with fried potatoes and schnitzel with chanterelle and pasta. Each side dish and main course earns a grade of 1+ with *
very rustic furnishings, therefore very cozy. We found it pleasant. Service was quick and attentive. Drinks came quickly and the food was also quickly ready. The rump steak was cooked to the point and a good portion.
Location with partial view of the Rhine. We booked a room and were offered an apartment. Fine, but the (residential) environment and sanitary facilities were not clean and sticky. Brr. Bedding was clean to not pleasant to sleep in. Booked three nights but left after one night - full payment after payment. Take cash payment into account upon departure. Two giant rabbits are available for children who love animals.
We stayed in the apartment for two nights - lots of space and very pleasant. A great price-performance ratio. Tarte flambee from the restaurant (to be taken away and eaten on the banks of the Rhine) was delicious.
Great german cuisine. Friendly staff
It is a restaurant that I happened to find after missing the train to Frankfurt. It is less than a 3 minute walk from St. Goarshausen train station and serves typical German cuisine. As usual, the amount was large and 2 dishes were too large for 2 people, but the taste was very good. There is a dog-sized rabbit in the store, occupying the sofa.
Exceptionally good cuisine, refined with a pleasant, rustic atmosphere and a particularly individual interior! I'll go there again!
Great food and atmosphere
Great food and service
We had a very poor experience with the service at this restaurant. The waitress was rude and impatient. When we wished to order only one beer (out of four guests), her expression was of complete disbelief and judgment. Her attitude further deteriorated as the meal went on. There's already no trace of smile by the middle of the meal. When we requested the bill, she left us hanging. After patiently waiting for tens of minutes, we finally decided to walk up to pay. Another man (who appeared to be her boyfriend) chose to prank us, by saying that we just have to pay him. This is unprofessional and insulting, especially after an unpleasant service. Meanwhile, our waitress was sitting on the side enjoying the joke. We were disappointed that she was not even concerned with getting us the bill. We felt neglected and discriminated against. Though we have no way of knowing the underlying cause of this treatment, it felt like blatant racism. We advice future guest, especially those of asian descents, to stay clear of this establishment. It's not worth the risk of ruining your mood.
We had very unpleasant experience here. After ordering 3 dishes, the waiter said that one of them we need to wait for 30 mins. The waiter promised us that we can get the dishes in 30 mins. Then we waited. But all of the three dishes came after 55 mins. Which made us have only 15 mins to finish all the dishes. More importantly, in between, all of the other customers which came later than us have got their dishes before us. As for the food, the chicken are only half cooked, there were still blood inside. And the "Saumagen" was overcooked. Schnitzel was fine. With the window open, there were very loud noise from the street.
The soup was good. Not great. Ordered still water. Was brought the more expensive premium mineral water. 25cl for 2.9 euro. Apple strudel was probably the worst I have had since I have lived in europe in the last 6.75 years. Salad was good.
Hidden away in a small town along the Rhine river is this small restaurant. They serve great authentic German food which was delicious. The waiter’s service was impeccable as well. The interior of the restaurant is charming and vintage. There’s parking just located diagonally across the road. It’s a great place to take photos with the houses and Rhine river as your backdrop.
Great place with local feel. Recommend.
Really friendly little bar. Great staff. Great beer. Great food. Great atmosphere.
The food tastes normal with big portions. It took a long time for me to receive a menu but the cooking time is fine, not too long. I ordered a schnitzel and the sauce was a bit salty, so I told the waiter and they have given me a discount :)
Large portions but terrible, very slow service. Salad with turkey came with raw turkey. They took it away and cooked the turkey but gave the same salad back - one raw piece still inside. People around us came and left and we were still waiting for the bill. If you can, go somewhere else.
Although not in the correct region, they had excellent Flammkuchen and Käsespätzle, along with a good selection of local wines. We sat outside in front, even though this is at a busy thoroughfare. Next time we might choose the indoor seating area which has little cobblestones and pleasant interior design. The waiter was helpful and attentive, but not overbearing. Certainly a recommendation for a place that is not right in the middle of the main tourist attractions.
Great place with a very nice antique look. Ordered a salad which was good, but loaded with a bit too much oil and vinegar.
